Partner Lounge
The lighting design concept is based on the main project features: an office-non office, a hybride space with several functions, none of them in a typical office context.
The corridor acts as a lobby for cocktails and as foyer for seminars – a space were people can meet. With the design of the custom made „light boards“ the corridor changed into a „pool of light“. Guests are invited to use these „shelves“ as a counter or bar surface, for drinks, coffee or laptops.
Busy business people can use the think tank at the end of the lobby; a small space filled with magical blue light. The play of daylight and artificial light is essential in this area; subtle feelings are created with the japanese shoji paper that covers the window.
The lounge is equipped with a custom made bar counter, covered with red linoleum, lobby chairs of Charles Eames, and a wall lamp designed in the fifties by Serge Mouille. Additional lighting elements are from Ingo Maurer, Ansorg and Erco.
Two full equipped offices can be used on a rental basis; they are illuminated with a combination of narrow beam halogen downlights, a wall washer to light plans, schedules etc., and a a task light on the table.
In the conference room a custom made lighting object is suspended in the center of the acoustic ceiling panel. Further indirect lighting was installed on top of the acoustic panel. This lighting allows an ideal and soft illumination during seminars, when all tables are moved out, and the light object provides a strong, concentrated light on top of the tables for conferences. The lighting design enhances all various functions in this project; from representative to relaxed, from concentretd to cocktail atmosphere. The last image gives you an idea of the subtle play of light that enhances the space.
